Magic Squares are part of Mathematics. It is a nxn matrix consisting numbers from 1 to n^2. No number repeats but all the rows, columns and two diagonals give the same magic sum. Math could have been a challenging subject to your kids. Your kids may be using calculators to do even simple arithmetic.
